Modifying the Marinelli theme for Drupal 7

Right now I am experimenting with the Marinelli theme for Drupal 7. My first challenge was the replace the stock photos it uses for the Marinelli banners, with something else. I also wanted to change the size of the banners, to make them thinner. To do this, I edited the slideshow.css, and in particular, the two places where it now says: height: 320px;

#header-images{
display: block;
float: left;
position: relative;
z-index: 2; /* under primary menu but over content wrapper (z-index=1) */
width: 100%;
height: 320px; /* image image height */
}

#header-images.unlimited{
height: auto; /* advertise region with sull height*/
}

img.slide{
width: 100%;
height: 320px; /* image image height */
}

I changed these settings to height: 180px;

Next, in the Drupal administatro menu for Appearance/Setting/Marinelli, I deleted all of the stock photos, and updated a few that that the dimensions 1020x180. Each one had to be marked, "published."

This worked.

Next, I would like to reduce the size of the space between the Site Name and the Slogan, from the top of the menus that are above the banner pictures.
